Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This policy applies to the MicPlay iOS app, the official MicPlay website, and related support pages provided by uLa Studio. Third-party services may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

2. Core Audio Processing

MicPlay includes Live Mic, Karaoke, Voice FX, EQ, Rhythm, and related audio functions. Core microphone and audio processing is designed to run primarily on the device. uLa Studio does not intentionally upload live microphone audio to uLa Studio-operated servers in order to provide the core Live Mic feature. Audio selected or imported by the user is primarily used on-device for playback and processing, subject to iOS and the user’s chosen file provider or storage location.

3. Microphone and System Permissions

MicPlay requires microphone permission for live input, singing, and certain audio features. Permissions are managed by iOS and can be changed at any time in system settings. Denying microphone access will prevent microphone-dependent features from working. Bluetooth, background audio, and file access are also subject to iOS policies, permissions, and device capabilities.

4. Accounts and Data Collected Directly

MicPlay currently does not require a uLa Studio account and does not operate a first-party cloud user-profile database for its core functions. uLa Studio does not receive full payment-card information. If you contact support by email, we receive the email address, message content, and attachments that you voluntarily provide, and use them for support, troubleshooting, and communication.

5. Advertising Services (MicPlay Free)

MicPlay Free uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to display advertising. According to Google’s published documentation, the SDK may process IP address (which may be used to estimate general location), non-user-related crash logs, performance data, device or app identifiers, advertising data, and app or ad interaction data. Actual processing may vary based on SDK version, device settings, region, consent status, and Apple platform restrictions. MicPlay Pro removes MicPlay’s in-app advertising placements.

6. Consent and Google UMP

MicPlay uses Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to present privacy messages and consent choices where required. Depending on applicable law and service configuration, users may be shown privacy notices, consent choices, or an entry point for revisiting privacy options. MicPlay uses UMP consent state when determining whether advertising requests may be made.

7. App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

The current version of MicPlay does not proactively present Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) authorization prompt and does not request cross-app or cross-website tracking permission for MicPlay’s own core features. Identifier availability to third-party services remains subject to Apple policies, user settings, region, consent state, and SDK behavior. If MicPlay’s tracking or advertising implementation changes, this policy and the App Store Connect disclosures will be updated accordingly.

8. In-App Purchases and MicPlay Pro

MicPlay Pro uses Apple StoreKit for non-consumable in-app purchases, transaction verification, and purchase restoration. Payments are processed by Apple; uLa Studio does not receive complete payment-card information. MicPlay may use product, transaction, and entitlement information provided by Apple to determine whether Pro access is valid and to unlock or restore eligible features.

9. Diagnostics, Performance, and Interaction Data

MicPlay does not collect microphone content for the purpose of building a user behavior profile. Third-party SDKs may process technical and interaction information for advertising, analytics, performance improvement, security, or diagnostics. The current App Store Connect App Privacy disclosures and the official policies of relevant third parties should be treated as the authoritative description of those data practices.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

Because MicPlay currently has no uLa Studio account system and core audio processing is primarily on-device, uLa Studio does not maintain a cloud personal profile library that users sign in to manage. Support emails and issue records may be retained for a reasonable period where necessary for support, compliance, or dispute handling. Data retention and deletion by third-party providers are governed by their respective policies.

11. Privacy Choices and Rights

You can manage microphone and other MicPlay permissions in iOS settings. Where UMP provides a privacy-options entry point, you may also revisit advertising-related choices. For questions or requests concerning data directly held by uLa Studio, support correspondence, or our privacy practices, contact us using the details below. We will address access, correction, or deletion requests as required by applicable law and within the scope of data we can identify and control.

12. Children and Minors

MicPlay is a general-purpose audio tool and is not specifically designed for children. uLa Studio does not intentionally request personal information from children for the core functionality of MicPlay. Additional requirements applicable to minors, advertising, or digital services may depend on local law and on Apple, Google, and App Store settings.

13. International Processing and Third-Party Services

MicPlay may use Apple StoreKit, Google Mobile Ads SDK, Google User Messaging Platform, and iOS audio, file, and other platform services. Third-party providers may process information in different countries or regions under their own terms, privacy policies, and security measures.

14. Security

uLa Studio follows a data-minimization approach and prioritizes on-device processing for core audio functions. We take reasonable measures to protect the product and support processes, but no network, device, or third-party service can guarantee absolute security.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when MicPlay features, third-party SDKs, laws, or App Store requirements change. Material changes to data handling will be reflected in this policy and its effective date and, where necessary, in App Store Connect privacy disclosures.

Local recording addendum

MicPlay Pro Recording creates user audio files on-device. Files are stored in app-managed local storage; uLa Studio does not automatically upload these recordings unless the user explicitly chooses to share or export them.
